Scott Petrus officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Connie Ann Gilley was born Sept. 28, 1954, in Monroe, and she passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2008, at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. Connie, a devout Christian, was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. She was a special aunt and caregiver to many. She was affectionately known as "Mama Connie" by all who held her close to their hearts. She lived her life by the words, "If you give you receive and if you love others you get love." She is preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Mae Houck. Connie is survived by her husband of 35 years, Eugene Gilley of Bastrop; three sons, Philip Gilley and wife Dana Gilley of Springdale, Ark., Nathan Gilley and wife Lisa Gilley of Rogers, Ark., and James Gilley and fiance Margaret Donaldson of West Monroe; a daughter, Rebecca Gilley Walker and fiance Michael Neathery of Bastrop; four grandchildren, Tyler and Tayler Walker, Nathan Gilley Jr., and Makayla Neathery; her father, Clarence Houck of Bastrop; a brother, Ronnie Houck of Bastrop; two sisters, Rita Williams and Rhonda Houck both of Bastrop; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
