Golden Funeral Home - May 2017
DOYCE ROOKARD ABERNATHY

Funeral services for Mrs. Doyce Rookard Abernathy, age 81, of Bastrop, LA, 
are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 in the Chapel of Golden Funeral 
Home with Rev. Joey Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial 
Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Abernathy, a retired postal carrier and member of First Baptist Church, 
passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Lagniappe Health Care.

She is preceded in death by husbands, Tommy Rookard, Sr. and J.D. Abernathy; 
parents, Austin Funderburg and Jessie Willis; sister, Betty Yarbrough and 
great grandson, Ayden Miletello.

Mrs. Abernathy is survived by her daughters, Ladonna Dodd and husband Dan of 
Bastrop, LA, Lisa Ratcliff and husband Deryl of Shreveport, LA, April 
Jackson and husband Quinton of Bastrop, LA, Angela Miletello and husband 
Tony of Monroe, LA; sons, Tommy Rookard, Jr. and wife Brenda of Bastrop, LA, 
Keith Abernathy and wife Trish of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Trey 
Rookard, Matt Rookard, Austin Rookard, Amber Wilkerson, Nicklous Spigner, 
Robin Spigner, Abreanna Jackson, Ashley Miletello, Joey Miletello, Michael 
Abernathy, Jennifer Abernathy; great grandchildren, Garrett Rookard, Grace 
Rookard, Anna Claire Rookard, Spann Rookard, Evariste Rookard, Lillian 
Rookard, Hunter Bryan, Sadie Wilkerson, Molly Wilkerson, Charlie Wilkerson, 
Jessie Wilkerson, Tyler Spigner, Brayden Spigner, Lexi Spigner, Payton 
Spigner, Abby Dickey, T.J. Dickey, Jaxon Clark, Kaelin Croft, Mya Miletello, 
Elliot Abernathy, Jerrell Abernathy; sister in law, Carolyn Hay and husband 
Johnny Ray of ElDorado, AR; special friends, Carolyn Spann, Mary Nell 
Henderson and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Serving and pallbearers are grandsons, Austin Rookard, Matt Rookard, Trey 
Rookard, Nicklous Spigner, Michael Abernathy; great grandson, Garrett 
Rookard and  nephew, Steve Yarbrough.
