Johnny Sanders officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday at Golden Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to noon. Mr. Allen, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday January 16, 2007 at St. Francis Medical Center. He was employed as a tile setter. Mr. Allen was a member of Cherry Ridge Baptist Church. He was an excellent guitar player and a lifelong musician. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He is preceded in death by his son, John Edward Allen; two grandchildren, Wanda Allen and Bill Andrew Allen, Jr.; parents, Marion & Irma Allen; two sisters, Rita Hannah and Mavis Allen; two brothers, Billy Wayne Allen and Jimmy Gerald Allen. He is survived by two children, Lisa Burditt & husband Walter of Longview, TX, Bill Allen & wife Elizabeth of Minden, LA; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters, Ella Randolph of Bastrop, Eva Nell Taylor of Bastrop, Bobbie Bunch of Bastrop, Kay Stage of Tyler, TX, Anna Lindsey of Central City, KY; two brothers, Lynn "Andy" Allen of Monroe, Perry Allen of Shelby, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Keith Lewis, Brad Gibson, Walter Burditt, Perry Taylor, and Patrick Radican.
