ANDREWS Funeral services for Mr. James L. Andrews, age ninety-eight, of Bastrop, LA, will be held at 10 AM on Monday, March, 9, 2026, at the Victory Tabernacle Church, located at 8478 Old Monroe Road, Bastrop, LA. Rev. Kevin Sanders will be the officiant. Mr. Andrews passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 9 AM. Mr. Andrews was a dedicated Christian man from an early age until his passing. He became a minister in his late thirties and pastored churches in Jones and Bastrop, LA. He was a man who loved his family and never met a stranger. His hobbies included raising a large garden, fishing and camping, but his passion was reading his Bible and studying the Word of God. Survivors include his children, Louis Andrews (Linda), Patsy Reynolds, Martha Chatham (Lenard); brothers, Joe Andrews and Nuby Andrews; grandchildren, Jeffery Andrews, Michael Andrews, Stephanie Andrews Cooper (Trent), April Reynolds Gomez (Darren), Cade Reynolds (Jessica), Jeremy Bryant, Justin Bryant (Misti), Austin Andrews, Kelley Andrews Bell (Jake); numerous great-grandchildren, and great- great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife of seventy-eight years, Gladys Andrews; son, Jerry Dell Andrews; son-in-law, Preston Reynolds; parents, Arthur and Jennie Andrews; sisters, Pebble Murphy, Sybil Murphy, Jewel Hebert, Mary Jane Whitlock, Christine Brewster, Evie Gabbert; and brothers, Jessie Andrews and David Andrews.
