She was born to Johnny William and Flossie Gertrude Bradley Johnston on February 24, 1948, in Bastrop, Louisiana. She married the love of her life, Leonard James Athey on December 30, 1968. She was a retired X-Ray Tech, where she worked for Wadley Regional Medical Center at Hope, Arkansas and De Queen Medical Center. Pat loved to fish and competed in Tournament Fishing. She also enjoyed playing poker, and spending time with her family, but importantly, her grandchildren were the light of her life. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Leonard Athey, a son, L. J. Athey, two brothers, Edward Johnston and Wayne Johnston, and a sister, Glenda Proctor. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Darlene Athey of De Queen and Cody and Destiney Athey of Horatio; a daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Derek Rankin of Horatio; a step-daughter, Karen McClure of Tulsa, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Will Athey of Texarkana, Jessica Nogueira of De Queen, Brylee Ann Athey of De Queen, Raylee Athey of Horatio, Paislee Athey of Horatio, Cassady Rankin of Rogers, Arkansas, and Kinley Rankin of Horatio; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Tim and Teresa Taylor, Joe Taylor, and Bob Taylor all of Warren, Arkansas as well as nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 9, 2026, in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dave Tunnell officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, February 8, 2026 at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen, Arkansas.
