Golden Funeral Home - September 2020
CHARLEY ATKINSON

Funeral Services for Mr. Charley Atkinson are scheduled for 10 AM Friday, 
September 25, 2020 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Ricky 
Baker officiating. Interment will follow in West Carroll Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Atkinson, a retired carpenter, passed away at the age of seventy. He was 
a people person, loved his family, especially family gatherings and 
cookings. Mr. Atkinson enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved pinto beans, 
rice, sausage, cornbread and fried potatoes.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Atkinson; sons, Charley Atkinson, Jr and 
wife Bea, Jerry Atkinson and wife Shelly, both of Silsbee, TX, Kenneth 
Atkinson of Oak Grove, LA; sisters, Pauline Crenshaw of Oak Grove, LA, Mary 
Louise Crenshaw and husband Mike of Epps, LA, Betty Jo Atkinson of Oak 
Grove, LA; brother, Henry Atkinson and wife Linda of Rogers, AR; eleven 
grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and special friends, Chester and 
Darlene Alexander and Kenny and Virginia McNaughton.

Mr. Atkinson is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Lyla Atkinson; 
son, Darren Lee Atkinson and numerous brothers and sisters.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Roy Kendall, Michael Coleman, 
Michael Deer, Jon Kilcrease, Adrian Barns, Charles Conner, Michael Crenshaw, 
and Charley Atkinson III.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 3 PM – 7 PM at 
Golden Funeral Home.
