BARHAM Funeral services for Ben Edwards Barham II, age 55, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13th. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Oak Ridge, Louisiana, with the Reverend Whit Stoghill officiating. Burial will follow at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. A visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. Ben was a farmer, an instrument rated pilot, and a life-long student. He was born on April 23, 1959, the oldest son of Bennie Berry Barham and the late Erle Edwards Barham. He graduated from Riverfield Academy in 1977, and attended the University of Louisiana at Monroe where he received his Bachelor's degree. He also attended Delta Community College and acquired an Associate's degree. He lived and worked in both Mississippi and Louisiana. He was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed the outdoors with canoeing, fishing, hunting, and camping. He also loved to play his guitar. Ben was loved by all who knew him and will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul who was quick to laugh. He knew the importance of faith and family, and was a good son, husband, brother, and father. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Bonnie Dry Barham, and two daughters: Stacy Barham Walker and Lydia Barham Acey and her husband Justin Acey. He loved his precious grandchildren: Logan Aaron Edwards Hodges, Arrielee Elizabeth Acey, Lilly Grace Rosalie Acey, Etta Elise Acey, Peyton Allen Walker, and Rebecca Laura Ellen Walker. He is survived by his mother Bennie Berry Barham. His surviving brothers are Erle West Barham and his wife Trudy Bridges Barham and their sons, Laten Edwards Barham and Nathaniel West Barham; and his youngest brother Robert Berry Barham and his wife Camille Robichaux Barham and their children, Graham Edwards Barham, Bailey Anne McKoin Barham, and Robert Collier Barham; and his sister, Amy Barham Westbrook and her husband Scott Hamilton Westbrook and their daughters, Margaret Benjamin Westbrook and Anna Claire Swearingen Westbrook. He was also blessed with the loving families of his uncles, Thomas West Barham and Robert Jocelyn Barham. Pallbearers will be Laten Barham, Logan Hodges, Scott Westbrook, Justin Acey, Dan Dry, and John Dry. Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Barham, Graham Barham, Collier Barham, Peyton Walker, Erle West Barham, Berry Barham, Joe Cooper Rolfe, Wayne Lord, and Jim Rolfe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , Leukemia & Lymphoma SocietyAdvertisement , the Cancer Research Institute, or a charity of the donor's choice .
