Bastrop Daily Enterprise - January 29, 2008 
Funeral services for Mr. Matthew (Matt) Edward Barnard, 22, of Hamburg, Ark. 
will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in the chapel of Jones-
Hartshorn Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Grant officiating. Interment will 
follow in Hilo Cemetery in Bradley County. Visitation will be held from 6-8 
p.m. Tuesday, January 29 at the funeral home.

Mr. Barnard died Friday, January 25, 2008.

Mr. Barnard was a native of Monticello, Ark.; a resident of Hamburg for many 
years and a former resident of Bastrop for many years. He graduated from 
Bastrop High School in 2004. He was a welder for RimCor in Bastrop and he was 
an avid hunter and fisherman.

 
 
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Carl Barnard; and an 
aunt, Sandra Carpenter.

He is survived by his mother, Karen Anderson and husband, Michael of San 
Antonio; his father, Dewey Barnard and wife, Brenda of Hamburg; a brother, 
Jonathan Teague and fiancé, Rupa Kapoor of Cleveland; a sister, Karli Perez 
and husband, Moises of San Antonio; three step-brothers, Erik Anderson of 
Lampasas, Texas, Shane Courson and wife, Ashley of Conway, Ark. and David 
Courson and wife, Tiffany of Crossett, Ark.; his paternal grandmother, Jean 
Barnard of Hamburg and his maternal grandparents, Elaine and Douglas Norman of 
Crossett; a niece, Izabella Perez; three step-nieces, Destni, Lauren and Somer 
Courson, and two step-nephews, Brian and Bayley Courson; four aunts, Cathy 
Heeter of San Antonio, Sheila Shelton of New London, Texas, Norma Sellers of 
Crossett and Sylvia Smith of Hamburg.

Pallbearers are Clint Smith, Shane Courson, Jarred Freeland, Chris Hughes, 
Derek Oliver and Brian Doles. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Griffith, Chris 
Horn and Shelby Carpenter.
