Louise was born on February 15, 1925 in Malden, Massachusetts to Helen Moore Mardirosian and Phillip Mardirosian. As a child and young adult , Louise lived through the Great Depression and World War II. At 18 years old, she joined the USO and traveled in Massachusetts and New York City entertaining the service men. She met James David on a blind date in New York City. They fell in love, corresponded throughout the war, and married February 20, 1946 in Malden, Massachusetts. That night, they boarded a train for Florida where she was embraced and loved by the Beaty family and many friends. She loved Florida - the sand, the beach and the ocean. During her years in Panama City, Louise completed her high school, certified as a teacher, and a nurse. Her talents included singing and teaching herself to play the piano. Both daughters were born in Florida. Then, two moves with the papermill took Louise and family to Pine Bluff, Arkansas for 6 years, then Bastrop, Louisiana in 1963. Louise loved God, her family, and her friends. In Bastrop, she enjoyed lasting friendships and her activities at the Methodist Church. She was wonderfully smart and creative and happily shared her talents, sewing chlothes, and decorating. For several years, Louise worked in a clothing store and floral shop. She joined organizations: ESA sorority and United Methodist Women. She was most proud of her 20-year membership in Morehouse General Hospital Auxillary, where Louise was in charge of the Morehouse Gift Shop for 17 years, providing funds for the hospital to add much needed equipment. Louise and David were married for 70 years before his passing in 2016. They loved each other with all their hearts. Louise and David enjoyed dancing, traveling, had many friends, and enjoyed being surrounded by family. Louise said the secrets to her long and successful marriage were: Start and end each day with prayer, a family that prays together stays together, never let a day go by without saying I Love You, hug your children and say how much you love them, never go to bed angry, and sit down and discuss problems and work them out together. Louise is survived by daughters, Donna Townsend and husband Scotty Townsend of Bastrop and Barbara Sullivan and husband Terry of Bossier City; one brother George Mardirosian of Everett Massachusetts; grandchildren James Scott Townsend and wife Tiffany, Stacey Demere and husband Derek, Shannon Smith and husband Reagan; great grandchildren Samantha and Riley Townsend, Cora and Cooper Demere, and Emerson and Harper Smith.
