GOLDEN FUNERAL HOME - FEB. 19, 2025
JAMES DOUGLAS BLACKWELL

Graveside funeral services for Mr. James Douglas Blackwell, age 80, are 
scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Memorial Park Cemetery with 
Bro. Tim Post officiating. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery, 
from 1:30 PM until 2 PM, service time.

Mr. Blackwell, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 
2025. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He is 
retired from Centry Telephone Company as Vice President of Data Operations. He 
enjoyed his time spent outdoors playing his favorite game, golf.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Al Blackwell, Andy Blackwell and wife, 
Carla, Brandee Blackwell, Debi Crais and husband, Will, Trudy Hight, Dewayne 
“Bubba” Rushing and wife Maryann and Lanell Kellick and husband, Nicky.

Mr. Blackwell is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ester and Edna Mae 
Blackwell; brother, Charles Blackwell, Willard “Buddy” Blackwell and sister, 
Joann Rushing.
