BOWEN Funeral services for Mr. Clark V. Bowen, age 82, of Bastrop, LA are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church with Bro. Andy Myrick and Bro. Bodie Spicer officiating. Interment will follow in the Edwards' Family Cemetery (Marion) under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Baptist Church. Mr. Bowen, a retired employee of Koch Chemical and a longtime member of Faith Baptist Church, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016. He had a great love of fishing and was known for making his own fish baits. Gospel music was a very important part of his life and he enjoyed going to singings and concerts as often as he could. His co-workers at the chemical plant often called him by his nickname, "Samson." He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Mary J. Bowen; daughters, Karen Gross and husband Ricky, Rhonda Bowen, Sherri Johnson and husband Todd, Patti Hart and husband David, Amy Bowen; sisters, Betty Gathright, Otto Mashaw and husband Bobby, Cheri Thomas, Tina Forbes, Sandy Bowen, Becky Tillman and husband Steve, Mary Bowen; brother, Hugh Bowen and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Justin Gross and wife Erica, Josh Gross, Jake Johnson and wife Whitley, Abbey Ganey and husband Michael, Layton Hart, Daniel Anderson, Jr., Ryan Hart, Amber Pruitt, Adam Hart and great grandchildren, Finleigh Kate Gross, Sullivan Gross, Scarlett Johnson, Ella Johnson, Bowen Ganey, Sadie Ganey, Braxton Ganey, Jaylan White, Rielly Gaines, Addison Gaines, Ainslee Pruitt and J.J. Pruitt. Mr. Bowen is preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Hallstead; father, Hugh Thaxton Bowen and siblings, Mary Maude Bowen, Glenda Peace and Roy Bowen. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons and sons-in-law and his life- long friend Richard Book. Honorary pallbearers are members of the "Corn Crib Crew," Floyd Tomboli, Darrell Bray, Donnie Bulloch, Thomas Littleton, Donald Glossup, Kirby Turner, David Carroll, and Troy Wayne Hall.
