Funeral services for Elbert Brooks Sr., 67, of Bastrop will be held on 

Saturday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m. at the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church 

located on Oliver Street with the Rev. Willie Minor Jr. and the Rev. James 

Robinson officiating.



Interment will follow in the Trousedale Cemetery, Collinston with Montgomery 

Funeral Home in charge.



Brooks died on Tuesday morning, Feb.17 at Morehouse General Hospital following 

a brief illness.



 

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 20 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the 

Montgomery Funeral Home Chapel located on Martin Luther King South.
