The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday, LA from 10AM until 11AM. Bennie Wayne Byargeon was born on Sunday, November 27, 1932 in Bastrop, LA, and passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at his home in Vivian, LA with his family. He graduated from Bastrop High School in 1950 and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. Following his military service, Bennie worked at International Paper in Natchez, Mississippi, from 1955 until 1965. In 1965, he became the owner of the American Eagle Truck Stop in Vidalia, operating it until 1974. Bennie later returned to the land he loved, farming and raising horses and goats, before eventually moving to Vivian, Louisiana, to be closer to his son, where he also helped with the family cattle operation. Bennie is preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Clydie Byargeon, wife, Glenda Willett Byargeon, wife, Carol Cangiamila Byargeon, son, Kirk Byargeon, brother, Bobby Byargeon, and sister, Glynece "Bo" Randall. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Gary Byargeon and his wife Pam of Vivian, LA, grandson, Casey and his wife Kristi Byargeon of Vivian, LA and Cale (Beth) Byargeon of Vivian, LA; great-grandchildren, Sal Byargeon, Kori Byargeon, Sophia Byargeon, McKinley Byargeon, Brody Byargeon, Silas Byargeon, and Jaqulan Shepard; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Those honoring Bennie as pallbearers will be Casey, Cale, Sal and Brody Byargeon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Virgil Hoggatt, Wayne Roberts, Tam Winston, Lanny Lipsey, Royce Whittington, Glen Young, and Archie Wisner.
