CANON Dennis J. Canon, 74, died late Monday at Morehouse General Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Canon wa a retireee from International Paper Co., and had lived in the parish for the past 33 years. Funeral services are being held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Farrar's Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Pat Guice officiating. Interment will be in Stephenson Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mary Freeland Canon of Bastrop; three sons, James C. Canon of Huntington Park, Calif., Clyde D. Canon and Richard King, both of Bastrop; one daughter, Mrs. Lillian Day of Bastrop; one brother, Marion Gore of Brownnwood,Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Winnie Stewart and Mrs. G.H. Schwantes, both of Abilene, Texas and eight grandchildren.
