L.H. McCollough officiating and interment was in Christ Church Cemetery. Golden Funeral Home was in charge of services. Mrs. Carpenter died early Saturday morning at Hickory Manor Nursing Home following a long illness. Mrs. Carpenter was born 84 years ago in Mer Rouge but had lived most of her life and served as city clerk for a number of years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. C.E. Spencer of Bastrop; three grandchildren, Mrs. Carl Berry and Bob Spencer, both of Bastrop and Dr. C.E.
