JAMES RANDALL CARROLL


Graveside funeral services with military honors for James Randall "Jim" Carroll 
will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Bartholomew Methodist 
Church Cemetery with Bro. Gary Guice officiating. A time of visitation and 
fellowship with the family will be held on Wednesday, Novembert 17th, from 5:00 
p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.

Mr. James Randall Carroll was born at Bastrop, Louisiana on May 29, 1945 to the 
late James Ernest Carroll and Mary Shinn Carroll. He passed away following a 
brief illness on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at his residence in West Monroe, 
Louisiana. Along with his parents Mr. Carroll is preceded in death by his 
beloved wife of 57 years, Sandra Herrington Carroll; a sister, Naomi Reed; three 
brothers, Paul Vernon Carroll, Jr., Lindel "Biddy" Carroll, and Boyce Carroll; 
and father-in-law, Aaron Reece Herrington.

Jim was a member of the Memorial Methodist Church. He was retired with over 40 
combined years of government service. Jim was a retired Master Sergeant with the 
United States Air Force and a retired postal carrier with the United States 
Postal Service in Bastrop, Louisiana. Mr. Carroll possessed a strong moral 
compass, a duty of service to his country, and a devotion to his family. A 
wonderful provider he will be remembered as a loving and faithful husband, 
father, grandfather, and brother.

Mr. Carroll is survived by his four children, Dana Renee' Carroll, Randall Dean 
Carroll, Lisa Diane Middlebrooks, and Craig Scott Carroll; nine grandchildren, 
John Patrick Carroll, Phillip Randall Carroll, Erin Kathleen Blake, Chelsee Jade 
Laing, Conner McMullan, Bryar Tollivar Goyne, Braeden Ross Carroll, Brooklyn 
Rayne Carroll, and Shaylee Nadine Carter; brother, Frank Carroll and his wife, 
JoAnn; mother-in-law, Dorothy Herrington; and numerous nieces, nephews, and 
extended family.
