MARY ELIZABETH "BETSY" COLLINS

BASTROP, LA. Funeral services for Ms. Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Collins will be 
held 3:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of 
Bastrop. Father Thomas Lijo will officiate the services. Interment will follow 
at Pine Grove Church Cemetey under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Mary Elizabeth Collins was born June 4, 1954 in Bastrop, Louisiana to the 
union of Minnie Olivia Madison Chandler and Joe Will Chandler. She passed away 
peacefully on March 26, 2014 at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop. Betsy 
was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Crossett, Arkansas and a 
former millright with Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill in Crossett. She loved 
animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed needlework and gardening. She is 
preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joe Chandler.

Betsy is survived by her son, Raymond Blanchard of Bastrop, Louisiana; two 
sisters, Ruby Courson and husband Danny of Bastrop, Louisiana and Jean Busby 
and husband Steve of West Monroe, Louisiana; a brother, Jimmy Chandler and 
wife Lynette of West Monroe; five nieces, Amanda White and husband Heath of 
Marshall, Texas, Holli Courson and husband Poketa Bell of Bastrop, Louisiana, 
Terri Cons and husband Rafael of Bastrop, Katherine Busby of Pensecola, 
Florida, and Sherry Ann Hughes of West Monroe; four nephews, Joseph Chandler 
and wife Wendy of West Monroe, Joe Chandler, Jr. of Tallulah, Louisiana, 
Robert Chandler of Monroe, Louisiana, and Daniel Courson and wife Donna of 
Sterlington, Louisiana; and twelve great nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Courson, Rafael Cons, Chris Keating, 
Gary Lowery, Scotty Lowery, and Joseph Chandler.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 27th, from 5:00 p.m. until 
7:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop.
