COOK Graveside funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Wayne Cook, Sr. are scheduled for 10 AM Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at Pine Grove South Cemetery with Bro. Tim Post officiating, under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Cook, a retired employee of International Paper Company, with thirty-seven years of service, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022 at the age of ninety- eight. He was a Deacon at New Friendship Baptist Church and served his country in the United States Navy. As a young man he was an outstanding baseball pitcher. Mr. Cook was an avid outdoorsman, living for hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was always willing and ready to do anything Mrs. Jean wanted him to do. He loved his family dearly and his life revolved around them. He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Wayne “Ken” Cook, Jr. and wife, Annie, David Keith Cook and wife, Phyllis; sisters, Imogene Ralph, and Mary Hogan; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Hoskins and husband, Jason, Ezra Keith Cook and wife, Heather, Kenneth Wayne “Bo” Cook III and wife, Kelly, Luke Harrison Cook, Lindsey Erin Morris and husband, Brandon; great grandchildren, Micah Aaron Morris, Hannah Rae Cook, Mackenzie Jean Cook, Lily Elizabeth Hoskins, Chloe Elizabeth Cook, John Mark Cook, Allie Belle Morris, Ella Kate Morris, and Ava Rose Morris. Mr. Cook is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-six years, Dorothy Jean Cook; parents, James Ezra and Edna Earl Cook; sisters, Maxine Gates, Virginia Wells, brothers, Pelza Cook, Horace Cook, Ray Cook, Glenn Cook, and Marion Cook. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Ken Cook, Keith Cook, Ezra Cook, Bo Cook, Luke Cook, and Micah Morris. Honorary pallbearers are Buddy Miller, Jimmy Perry, Preston Petrus, Charles Cook, Charles Cook, Jr., Rick Cook, Rusty Cook, Ronnie Harrison and Jason Hoskins.
