Interment will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 21, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Golden's. Cynthia went home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2018, at home surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was a native of Bastrop, LA, born on February 6, 1955. Cynthia was a Bastrop High Graduate class of 1974. She was a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church. After high school she married Jackie Glen Courson. She worked as Branch Manager at Lab Corp for twenty plus years. Later in life she worked as a bus driver for Morehouse Parish Schools. As a bus driver, she was affectionately known as Ms. C.C. She loved and held each child close to her heart. Her greatest title was NeNe as she was known by her grandchildren. After retiring, she returned to her favorite pastime of fishing and tending to her chickens. Cynthia is preceded in death by one sister, Cathy Ellen; mother and father-in-law, Kathleen and Floyd Courson. She leaves behind her loving compassionate husband Jackie Glen Courson of forty-two years. Cynthia is survived by two daughters, Charisma Tennille and Laura Leigh. Grandchildren include Kyleigh Ann and Juden Kyler; two sisters, Bessie Carney and Ann Lowery and husband Charles; one childhood friend, whom she always referred to as her brother, Willie Crow; one sister-in-law, Sandra Boykin and husband Rodney and three brother-in-laws, Danny Courson and wife Ruby, Bruce Courson and wife Jackie, Larry Courson and wife Carla; and numerous nieces and nephews. Immediate family would like to express gratitude for all the kind prayers and support from family and lifelong friends. Extended thanks to Misty Hutchinson for her loving care and devotion for Cynthia at home. Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Courson, Brandon Courson, Alex Courson, Pakita Bell, Josh Keating, and Rafael Cons. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith McKinney, Mike Brixey and Claude Martien.
