Rhonda was born on January 4, 1959, in Bastrop, LA, to the late Betty Sue Perkins Roan and Joseph Allen Roan. She was a compassionate and dedicated respiratory therapist, known for her heart to care for others. Rhonda’s life was filled with the simple joys of reading, football, festivals, live music, beach vacations, and holidays, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her beloved family and close friends. She was admired for her love of life, kind heart, beautiful smile, graceful spirit, fierce independence, hardworking nature, and spunky personality. Rhonda is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey John Crise of West Monroe; her children, Holly Camille Joiner, Lauren Elizabeth Philley, Jordan Vance Kennedy and his wife Katie; her stepdaughter, Lindsay Kennedy Tomlinson and her husband Trent. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Brooks Joiner and his wife Reagan, Bethany Joiner, Roan Joiner, Philley Hartman, Larsen Hartman, expectant Baby Girl Kennedy, Veo Tomlinson, Alice Tomlinson, Eloise Tomlinson, and Jack Tomlinson. Family was undoubtedly the core of Rhonda’s world. She was a devoted mother and “Emmie”, always placing the needs and happiness of her family above her own. Her home was a gathering place filled with love, laughter, and delicious food. Rhonda is also survived by her siblings: Angie Cook and her husband Bruce, Jeff Roan and his wife Rita, and Jomical Roan and his wife Melissa; her mother and father-in-law, Sue and Jerry Crise; her brother-in-law, Richard Crise and his wife Sara; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents Betty and Joe Roan, a husband, Tony Philley; her daughter, Betty Ann (Annie) Philley; and her sister, Dana Jo Roan. Rhonda’s legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who knew her. The family requests that memorial donations be made in Rhonda’s honor to the American Cancer Society or to a local animal shelter of your choice. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her. A time of visitation and fellowship for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 5, 2024 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop followed by a Celebration of Life for Rhonda at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Jerry Crise officiating. Committal services and interment will be private for the family at Memorial Park Cemetery of Bastrop under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
