He never outgrew his love for people, horses, the outdoors and hard work. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior when he was 13 years old. He graduated from Bastrop High School, excelling in basketball and football. While working at International Paper Company as a millwright, and using a $300 profit from selling a horse, he began his selling and trading career from his backyard, selling tractors and farm equipment. Then, later he purchased land, and in 1976 established John Croswell Equipment Sales. In 2000 he established John Croswell Trailer Sales, followed by Croswell's Tack and Western Wear in 2012. He always loved work because he said it was still fun. He leaves behind a family, co-workers, business associates, and friends too numerous to name, that he truly loved and who truly loved him. He will be missed. Mr. Croswell is preceded in death by his parents, John William and Verla Croswell; brothers, Charles and Bill Croswell. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances on his behalf be given for this important work to Central Missionary Baptist Church 1231 Leavell St., Bastrop, LA 71220.
