CHARLIE CURTIS

Funeral services are being held at 2 p.m. today (Friday) for Charlie Curtis, 71,  
who died Wednesday afternoon at his home on the Mer Rouge Road. Services are 
being conducted by the Rev. Doyle Coody at Golden Funeral Chapel.

Interment is set for Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Golden 
Funeral Home.

A native of Hamburg, Ark., he had lived in Bastrop for the past 47 years. He was 
a retired cafe owner and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of Oak Hill 
Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; one brother, David Curtis; two sisters, 
Mrs. Myrtle Jackson of Bastrop and Mrs. Neva Kees of Oil City, La.
