LELAND T. CARPENTER


Funeral services for Leland T. Carpenter, 91, of Bastrop, LA, will be held at 2:00
p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop, LA, with Rev. Phil
Smith officiating. Graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14,
2015, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, LA, under the direction of Golden
Funeral Home, Bastrop, LA. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14,
2015, at Golden Funeral Home in Bastrop, LA.

Mr. Carpenter passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Morehouse General Hospital in
Bastrop, LA.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bastrop, LA, a member of Mount Gerzim
Masonic Lodge No. 54 Bastrop, LA and Barak Shriners, Monroe, LA. Mr. Carpenter was a
veteran, having served in the Coast Guard during World War II.

Mr. Carpenter is preceded in death by his first wife, Imogene Marie Carpenter; his
parents, Horace and Maudie Carpenter; daughter, Elsie Lee "Sue" Roberts; son, Arnold
M. Carpenter; brothers, Wayne and Horace Carpenter. He is survived by his wife of 36
years, Ruby Lee Carpenter; son, Richard Carpenter and wife Wanda of Bastrop, LA;
son-in-law, Hilton Roberts of Avenger, Texas; step-sons, John Tully, Jr. and wife
Ruthie, and Michael Tully and wife Jennifer; step-daughter, Pam T. Redden and a
large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Tully, Brandon Tully, Roger Carpenter, Kerry
Roberts, Hilton Roberts and Dr. G.G. Grant IV.
