Ron Vollmar officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Dye, a retired employee of Goldman Equipment in Mer Rouge, passed away peacefully Monday, January 19, 2015 at his home surrounded by those he loved. He loved all thing sports, his dog Maggie, and cat Millie. In his earlier years he coached Dixie Majors baseball, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed working in his yard. Mr. Dye was also active in the Lion's Club and was a member of the Mer Rouge Baptist Church. Mr. Dye is survived by his wife of 54 years, Deloris; daughter, Cindy Nelson McMilleon and husband Brent; son, John Dye Jr. and wife Patty; grandsons, John Philip Nelson, John Dye III, James Dye; granddaughter, Jessica Nelson Kees and husband Joel; and great granddaughter, Lily. He is preceded in death by his parents, Gaston and Annie Lee Dye, and brothers, Bobby, Harry Lee, and Jerry. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
