DOROTHY ANN NORMAN JOHNSON ELLIS


Mrs. Dorothy Ann Norman Johnson Ellis, passed away December 14, 2025 at the age 
of 78. Dorothy, AKA, Empress of The Known Universe, was a force to be reckoned 
with. She was known for being full of life, energy, and a social butterfly, 
always up for a fun time, good meal, good music and a hearty laugh. She was a 
professional educator at Central Elementary in Columbia, Kelly Elementary in 
Kelly, and Minnie Ruffin Elementary in Monroe. She had a fondness for knowledge 
that she passed on to her family and her students. She was a poor navigator but 
she loved adventure, gallivanting across the world taking various cruises and 
trips. Dorothy loved the Lord, her church, her pastor and Elvis.

Mrs. Ellis is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Dorothy Norman; 
husbands, Carlton Kelley and Billy C. Johnson, Sr. She is survived by her 
husband, Richard Ellis; son, Billy C. Johnson, II, and companion Jennifer 
Bridges; brother, Paul James Norman; grandchildren, Shannon L. Johnson, Billy C. 
Johnson, III, Julisa Johnson; great grandchild, Billy C. Johnson, IV; mother of 
grandchildren, Sherri Rieger Johnson; Special family and friends, Rhonda 
Bostick, Dianne Yarbrough, Linda Cunningham, Linda "Tweety" Tarver and many 
other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life, upbeat party, will be held Saturday, December 20, 2025, 
from 11 AM until 2 PM at The Barn, 5905 Rebel Rest Rd. Bastrop, LA 71220.
