Viola "Odie" Eppinette

Bastrop, La. -

Funeral services for Mrs. Viola "Odie" Eppinette, 83, of Bastrop will be held 
at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Harmony Baptist Church near Collinston 
with the Rev. Allan Eppinette, the Rev. Heath Eppinette, and the Rev. Britt 
Dupree officiating. Interment will follow at Mer Rouge Cemetery under the 
direction of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. The family will receive friends from 
5-8 p.m. Saturday, August 2 at Harmony Baptist Church.


Viola McGhee Eppinette was born July 17, 1925 at Tiller, Ark. and she died 
peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, August 1, 2008.
Mrs. Eppinette is preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Eppinette; her 
parents, Jim McGhee and Willie Marie Cole McGhee; four sons, Billy Don 
Eppinette, Travis Oneal Eppinette, Stanley DeWayne Eppinette, and James 
Gilbert Eppinette; three brothers, Mack McGhee, Herbert McGhee, and LeVon 
McGhee; and a sister, Bessie Marie DelRio.


Mrs. Eppinette is survived by her daughters, Jimmie White and husband 
Samuel "June" White of Bastrop, Violet Marie McVay and husband Sheldon McVay 
of Ashdown, Ark., and Barbara Haddock and husband David Haddock of Bastrop; 
three daughters-in-law, Lola Mae Eppinette, Zela Talley, and Sheila Hawkins, 
all of Bastrop; former son-in-law, Daniel West of Adona, Ark.; a sister, 
Estell Eldridge of Baird, Texas; twenty grandchildren, three great-
grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and 
friends.


Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, Kevin Eppinette, Mark McVay, Michael 
McVay, Clayton McVay, Owens West, Lance West, Steven Eppinette, and Robert 
Eppinette.
