Mr. Herbert "Herb" Oliver Evans,75, of Hamburg, loving caregiver of June, died in peace on Monday, August 1, 2005 at his residence in the Milo Community. Mrs. Evans was a native of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg; a former resident of Bastrop for many years, having moved back to the Milo Community 18 years ago. She was a homemaker and a dedicated wife and mother. She was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in North Crossett. Mr. Evans was a native of Bernice and a resident of the Milo Community outside of Hamburg for the past 18 years. He was a retired insurance salesman and a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in North Crossett. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Hamburg Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 9360. Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husbands, TL Franklin and James K. Martin; her parents, Roy Cobb and Violet Flowers Malloy and four brothers, Lester, GW, JP and Carnell Malloy. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his wife of 24 years, Dorothy "June" Malloy Evans by 25 hours and 20 minutes; his father, Fuller Evans; his step-father and mother, Eugene and Zula Baird Pearson and a brother, Billy Pearson. Mr. and Mrs. Evans are survived by her children and his step-children; Thomas A. Franklin and wife, Karen, of West Monroe, Rebecca F. Brown and husband, Greg, of Plantersville, Ala., Alisa M. Scott and husband, Shelby, of Hamburg, Ark. and Stacey M. Wilson of Fountain Hill, Ark.; 10 grandchildren, two great- grandchildren as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Evans is also survived by two brothers, Preston Malloy and wife, Patricia, of Hamburg, Ark. and Alvin Malloy and wife, Mary Katherine, of Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Joyce M. Johnson of Dover, Ark. and two sisters- in-law. Mr. Evans is also survived by a sister, Mary Alice McIntyre and husband, Marion, of Delhi. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2005 at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Nay Vickers and the Rev. Eric Hodges officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers are Harold Farmer, Ricky White, John Frank Johnston, Joe Sasser, Larry Land and Jerry Ozment. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home, Hamburg.
