Timothy Hurd officiating. Mr. Fisher, age seventy-one, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at Ochsner LSU Health in Shreveport. Mr. Fisher was born in Lebanon, Boone County, Indiana, on Apr. 5, 1949, a son of the now late Leonard and Margaret (Wathen) Fisher. David attended Lebanon Senior High School in Lebanon, Indiana. In 1984, he moved to Louisiana. He was a United States Army Veteran of The Vietnam War. David worked many years as a truck driver, as well as in the health care field. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being the life of the party, and life in general with family and friends. He was a longtime member of The American Legion Post 51. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bastrop. Survivors include four children, Chad D. (wife Shelley) Fisher, Leslie Tisdale, Kevin Herrington and Matt Herrington; eleven grandchildren, Madison Fisher Brown, Zoey Fisher, Amber Tisdale, Austin Tisdale, Robert Walton, Jessica Herrington, Adam Herrington, Kaylin Herrington, Nick Herrington, Hope Herrington and David Smith; 8 great grandchildren, Chadrick Brown, Lydia Robinson, Daniel Robinson, Avery Tisdale, Avron Herrington, Jaslyn Herrington, Emma Green and Trenton Hayden and numerous nieces and nephews; two brothers, Michael (wife Teresa) Fisher and Jeffery (wife Pam) Fisher; two sisters, Pam (husband Dale) Davis and Linda Sutherlin. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by three brothers John Fisher, Steven Fisher and Harry “Jimmy” Fisher; a sister Donna Fisher In lieu of flowers donations in David’s memory can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church of Bastrop, 217 Harrington St., Bastrop, La. 71220, or to the charity of your choice.
