Golden Funeral Home - November 2021
JESSIE FORTNER

Funeral services for Mr. Jessie “Mae” Fortner age 80, of Bastrop, LA are 
scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, November 28, 2021 in the chapel of Golden Funeral 
Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.

Mr. Fortner, a retired millwright and member of Harmony Baptist Church, passed 
away Friday, November 26, 2019. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman, and 
enjoyed riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed traveling back home to Alabama to 
visit with all of his family there. 

Mr. Fortner is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Fortner; parents, Robert 
and Hazel Fortner; three sisters and a grandson, R.J. Fortner.

Survivors include his children, Burl Fortner and wife Janet, Kricket Fortner, 
Randy Fortner and wife Angie, Renee Fortner, Renee Coussou; sister, Charolotte 
Soliday and husband Lee, three brothers, Jimmy Ray Fortner and wife Yvonne, 
Frank Fortner and wife Sue, Tim Fortner and wife Kay; four grandchildren, Jarred 
Crymes and wife Amberlie, Brianne Gray, Matthew Fortner, Jacob Fortner and four 
great grandchildren, Shelby Crymes, Colton Crymes, Zy Thompson and Carleigh 
Fortner.

Serving as pallbearers are: Mike Aldridge, Dewey Diel, Willy Bailey, Matthew 
Fortner, Jacob Fortner, and Chad Fortner.
