Funeral services for Gladys Fortune, age 75, of Bastrop, will be held on

Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004 at 2 p.m. at Golden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.

Lynn Townsend officiating. Interment will follow in Wilmot Cemetery in Wilmot,

Ark. Mrs. Fortune died on Jan. 19 at Cherry Ridge Nursing Home in Bastrop.



Mrs. Fortune was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was

preceded in death by her parents Walter and Josephine Rushing, a son, Bradford

Fortune Jr. and a daughter, Elaine Fortune and is survived by two sons, Jimmy

Wayne Fortune and wife Ann of Idabel, Okla. and Darwin L. Fortune and wife

Bertha of Ruston; two sisters, Thelma Carraway of Collins, Miss. and Helen Ray

of Baskin; two brothers, James Rushing and wife Taki of Dallas, Texas and Walter

Rushing Jr. and wife Gwin of Monroe; six grandchildren and 11

great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Lee Fortune, Jason Fortune, Ricky

Blocker, Cletis Hemphill, Ronald Oden and Ronald Uptigrove. Honorary pallbearers

will be the great-grandchildren.
