Granny was 102 years old. Mrs. Griffin is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-six years, James (Foots) Griffin and her oldest son, James Newton Griffin. Mrs. Griffin is survived by daughter, Dorothy Marie Vinson of Shreveport, LA sons, Robert Drewland Griffin of Victoria, MS and Raymie Benton Griffin of Grenada, MS. She has six grandchildren, Terry Lynn Votaw of Mer Rouge, LA, Vince Vinson of New Hope, KY, Elizabeth Joyce Toney and husband Brian of Choudrant, LA, Stephanie Spillman and husband Anthony of McComb, MS, Tonya Wilson and husband Jeremy of Edinburg, TX, Katina Norwell and husband Kelly of Vicksburg, MS. She has sixteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She leaves a host of nephews and nieces. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 12 noon - 2 PM at Golden Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2 PM in the chapel with Rev. Allan Eppinette officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Griffin family wishes to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. John Coats for his continuous care of our beloved mom. His kindness, patience, and caring ways will always be remembered. We would also like to thank those at Oak Woods, who worked diligently to give mom care, especially, the CMS’s who cared for "Granny" daily. The entire family would like to thank Terry Lynn Votaw (Granddaughter) for being there when we could not. You made "Granny" laugh and you pushed her to be "up and going".
