GEORGE LEE GUNTER


Funeral services for Mr. George Lee “Tapper” Gunter, age 81, will be held at 2
PM Sunday, November 5, 2017 with Rev. Chris Croswell officiating. Interment will
follow in Gunter Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home.
Mr. Gunter, a resident of Bastrop, passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 at his
residence in Bastrop, LA. Mr. Gunter loved fishing, hunting and camping. He was
retired from Dreher Construction. Mr. Gunter is preceded in death by his wife of
62 years, Ruby Earline Gunter; parents, Davis Thomas and Almedia Phillips
Gunter; sons, Johnny Gunter, Eddie Gunter; and siblings Delarine McGee, Hazel
Carpenter, Charles Thomas Gunter, and Virgil Gunter.
Mr. Gunter is survived by his kids, George T. Gunter and wife Sonya of Jones,
LA, Charles Gunter and wife Wanda of Swartz, LA, Janice Reynolds and husband
Dale, of Bastrop, LA, Dale Gunter and wife Ann of Bastrop, LA, Ronald Lynn
Gunter of Bastrop, LA; thirteen grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Timmy Coker, Allen Coker, Thomas Gunter, Ricky
Tharp, Stanley Guyewski, and Jerry Dale Eppinette. Honorary pallbearers will be
James LeBrun and Benjamin Hogan.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 2 PM Sunday at Golden Funeral Home.
