RUBY EARLINE DOKE GUNTER


Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby Earline Doke Gunter, age 79, are scheduled for
2PM Friday, October 27, 2017 at Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Croswell
officiating. Interment will follow in Gunter Cemetery under the direction of
Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 PM until 8 PM Thursday,
October 26 at Golden Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gunter, a retired CNA and homemaker, passed away Tuesday, October 24. She
was a member of Bastrop United Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed going to church
and singing. She also enjoyed fishing, old John Wayne movies and older shows on
TV. She was a very loving wife and mother who loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband George Lee “Tapper” Gunter; daughter, Janice
Reynolds and husband Lonnie Dale of Bastrop, LA; sons George T. Gunter and wife
Sonya of Jones, LA, Charles V. Gunter and wife Wanda of Swartz, LA, Dale R.
Gunter and wife Ann of Bastrop, LA, Ronald Lynn Gunter of Bastrop, LA; sisters,
Dorothy Atkinson of Bastrop, LA, Betty LeBrun and husband James of Bastrop, LA,
Gracie Doke of Bastrop, LA; brother, Richard Doke and wife Linda; ten
grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
Mrs. Gunter is preceded in death by her sons, Eddie and Johnny Gunter; parents,
R.C. and Annie Doke; brothers, Harold and Darrel Doke; sisters, Shirley
Eppinette and Mary Ethel Doke.
Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Gunter, Mickey Young, Allen Coker, Timothy
Coker, Stanley Guyewski, Jerry Eppinette and Danny Miller. Honorary pallbearers
will be Ricky Tharp and Angela Reitzel.
