FLETCHER MAYO HAMILTON

Funeral services for Fletcher Mayo Hamilton, age 54, of Moss Hill, Texas were 
held Thursday, January 20 at 10 a.m. at the Allison Funeral Home in Houston,
Texas. Interment followed at the V.F.W. Cemetery in Houston where military 
services were conducted.

Mr. Hamilton succumbed Jan. 18 at 3 a.m. at his home of an apparent heart
attack.

Born in Thomasville, Ala, he lived in Arkansas, in Bastrop, and had resided in 
Houston, Texas for the past 14 years, He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps 
during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. He was a 32nd degree 
Mason and member of the Houston Scottish Rite, Houston, Texas and a member of 
the VFW Lodge at Liberty, Texas. He had been retired for barbering for a year 
and half.

White residing in Bastrop during the late 1950's and early 1960s he worked
at Ben Berry's Barber Shop. He was a member of Tillou Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Helen Camden Hamilton of Moss Hill; his 
mother, Mrs. Lula Hamilton of Channelview, Texas; one son Ronald F. Hamilton of 
Conroe, Texas; a daughter Mrs. Roy B. (Debbie) Heaton Jr. of Houston, Tex, and 
Mrs. Annie Mae Purswell of Channelview, Tex; two brothers, Jesse Hamilton of 
Channelview, Tex, and Wallace Hamilton of New Caney, Tex; five grandchildren and 
several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were members of the Blue Lodge C.A. Fortner Lodge No. 1304 of 
Channelview, Tex
