Mrs. Hammond was a native of Jones; a resident of Bastrop for the past 25 years and a former resident of Wilmot, Ark., for many years. She was a homemaker, a member of the Bonita Road Baptist Church and she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Corine Manning Ferrell and a brother, Henry "Hank" O. Ferrell. She is survived by two sons, Eddie Hammond and his wife, Doris of Wilmot, Steve Hammond and his wife, Diane of Portland, Ark.; two daughters, Donnice Barham and her husband, Jim, of Little Rock, Ark., and Gale Miller and her husband, Ron of Wilmot; three brothers, Carvin Ferrell of Bastrop and Richard Ferrell of Sacramento, Calif., and Henry Ferrell Jr. of Bastrop; four sisters, Dee Dee Conley, Wanda Milliren, Joyce Johnson and Patsy Lusby, all of Bastrop; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services and interment are scheduled for 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb.1, at the Beekman Cemetery with the Rev. Phillip Bowles officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg, Ark. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Michael Miller, Scott Miller, Neal Hammond, Mark Barham, Chris Hammond and Nicholas Johnson. Memorials may be made to the Oak Woods Home for the Elderly Memorial Fund in memory of Nell Hammond, 1400 Davenport Ave., Mer Rouge, La. 71261.
