HARPER Funeral services for Mr. Nolan R. Harper, age ninety-two, are scheduled for 10 AM Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Bonita Road Baptist Church with Bro Casey Johnson and Bro. Bob Lonadier officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Harper was retired from International Paper Company. He was a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church, an avid outdoors man that loved to hunt and fish and play the guitar. Mr. Harper was known at work as “sud buster”. He served his country in the Army during World War II in the 82nd Airborne Division. Mr. Harper was a Military Police, a Sharp Shooter and Paratrooper in Germany. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Harper; sons, Ronnie Harper and wife Rose Mary, Kerry Harper and wife Kathy, Donnie Bridges and wife Ramona; sisters, Jo Hayes, Lucille Halterman; ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Mr. Harper is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Rachel Harper; wife, Laveda Harper; daughter, Dianna Lynn Williams; son, Randy Harper; brothers, Robert Harper, Douglas Harper; and sister, Aliene Merridith. Serving the family as pallbearers are Joseph Harper, David Hayes, Donnie Bridges, Kyle Duncan, Randy Ross, Mike Merridith, and Billy Hunt. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Hales, Chad Harper, Jeff Bridges and Jeremy Bridges. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 5 PM - 8 PM at Goldens.
