JANESTINE COATS HARRALSON

Mrs. Janestine Coats Harralson, 87, died Friday in Vicksburg, Miss., at the 
Sydney Convalescent Home following a long illness.

She was born at Plantersville in Morehouse Parish of a prominent pioneer family 
and had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 50 years She was the daughter 
of the late John Bussey Coats and Jeffie Davidson "Lovie" Coats and the widow of 
the late Dr. Hugh Harralson of Vicksburg.

Mrs. Harralson was employed for many years as hostess of the Sydney Coffee Shop.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. May Coats Lindsey of Shreveport; three step 
daughters, Mrs. Ethel Klein, Mrs. Lolla Bell and Miss Lois Harralson all of 
Vicksburg and numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.

Services were conduced on Saturday at 3 p.m. from Glenwood Chapel with Rev. 
Willard Leggett of Crawford Street United Methodist Church. Interment was in 
Cedar Hill Cemetery, Vicksburg under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased and included L. Leavell Coats of 
Shreveport, Dr. John M. Coats IV. of Mer Rouge, Dr. Samuel Coats of Houston, 
Texas, Ted Patterson of Birmingham, Ala. Robert Anderson Coats of Bastrop, Dr. 
Hugh Johnston of Vicksburg and John M. Coats V. of Monroe
