McCollough and the Rev. Cal Adams officiating. Interment will follow at the Causey Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop. Horace Harrison was born February 19, 1921 in Bonita and he died Saturday, September 30, 2006 in Bastrop. He was a member and former deacon at Bethel Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Harrison was a graduate of Bastrop High School and Northeast Louisiana State College, where he earned a Bachelors degree in education. He continued his studies earning a Masters degree in education from the University of Mississippi and Masters plus 30 from Auburn University. Mr. Harrison retired in 1984 after 24 years with the Morehouse Parish School System serving as Principal at both South Side and East Side Elementary Schools. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Arnelle Pearce Harrison who died June 6 of this year; his parents, Lawrence and Lola Moore Harrison; two brothers -- Winford and Douglas Harrison and a son-in-law, Sammy Robinson. Mr. Harrison is survived by his daughter, Janice Harrison Robinson of Bastrop; two sons -- David Horace Harrison and wife Paula and James Thomas Harrison and wife Sandy all of Monroe; seven grandchildren -- Rachel Robinson Hauser, Samuel Caden Robinson, Jaret Thomas Harrison, Jason Michael Harrison, Jessica Catherine Harrison, Brooke Golson and Blair Golson; three great-grandchildren - - Samuel Lawrence Robinson, Olivia Morgan Hauser and Kathryn Golson and three brothers-in-law -- Thomas Pearce and wife Frances of Wichita Falls, Texas, Hilton Pearce of Houston, Texas and Charles Terry and wife Vivian of West Monroe. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Harrison, Michael Jackson, Randy Pearce, Jerry Pearce, Bryant Pearce and Andy Anderson. Serving as Honorary pallbearers are Buddy Anderson, Ken Hamel, Dr. Robert Lyon, Mrs. Elva Humphries, O.L. Harper, Charles Wright and all former teachers from 1962 to 1984 at South Side and East Side Elementary Schools.
