Casey Todd Herrington was born November 19, 1988 at Bastrop, Louisiana. He passed away peacefully with his son by his side on Sunday evening, November 14, 2021 at his home in Collinston, Louisiana. Casey is preceded in death by his brother-in-arms, Major Ronald Wayne Culver; his grandfather, "Daddy Louis" Louis Butler, and grandmother, "Grams" Ruthie Weatherford. Casey was a Patriot and served our country honorably in both the United States Army and Louisiana National Guard. During his time in service Casey served during the Global War On Terrorism and was wounded during the Iraqi Freedom Campaign. However, Casey life was not determined by his military service. His purpose in life and what brought him the greatest joy, was being a father to his "Little Buddy". Casey's life was devoted to being a dad to his son, Cain. Surviving Casey is his "Little Buddy", son, Cain Herrington; his wife and soul mate, Jackee Slayter; parents, Todd and Cheryl Herrington; sister, Bo Swan and her husband, Scott Swan; brothers, Curt Ruffin and his wife, Tina Ruffin and Carey Herrington and Laythen Adams; eight nieces and nephews, Baylee Outlaw, Daniel Outlaw, Dakota Outlaw, Connor Ruffin, Hunter Ruffin, Stella Ruffin, Rylee Herrington, and Brayden Herrington; mamaw, Peggy Butler; and his loyal canine companion and sidekick, "Calla". Serving as Casey's pallbearers are Curt Ruffin, Carey Herrington, Scott Swan, Jacob Shields, Trey Shields, and Daniel Outlaw. Honorary pallbearers will be his son, Cain, and Cody Miles. For those who wish, the family suggest planned memorials in Casey's honor be made to the PTSD Foundation of America at ptsdusa.org. or to any charity providing support and a lifeline for our veterans in their struggles with PTSD.
