Hicks, 65, of Portland, Ark., succumbed Sunday at a Greenville, Miss hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 9 p.m. Monday at the Portland Ark Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Darter officiating. Burial was in Trefalger Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Hamburg. Mr. Hicks was a retired supervisor of the Asley County Highway Department, and was a deacon and member of Portland Baptist Church.
