Dwight Fulton and Rayburn McLarrin officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Hughes Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Mr. Hodges, a retired carpenter, U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and member of Bastrop United Pentecostal Church, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2023. He loved his family, his church and swinging on the front porch swing with Josie. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, shopping at Super 1, cooking for his family and spending time with Jim and Angie. Mr. Hodges was always willing to help anyone in need. He was an outdoors man and loved working in the yard and just being outside. Mr. Hodges is survived by his wife of 57 years May Dell Hodges; daughter, Angie Rawls and husband Ronald; son, Jim Hodges and wife Liz; brothers, Cliette Hodges and wife Betty, David Hodges, Earvin Hodges; grandchildren, Chelsea Cheek and husband Tyler, Morgan Tidwell and husband Ben, Hali Hodges, Neal Rawls and wife Miranda, Ryan Rawls and wife Heather, Chad Rawls and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Josie Cheek, Bella Rawls, Jace Rawls, Sutton Tidwell, Judah Tidwell, Jared Floyd, Matthew Floyd, Mallorie Floyd, Rosemarie Floyd and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Elizabeth Hodges; siblings, Edward Hodges, Edgar Hodges, Leon Hodges, Jenie Mizell, Ruby Taylor; sister in laws, Diane Hodges, Shekemie Hodges, Odell Hodges, Jackie Hodges, Faye Hodges and brother in laws, John Mizell and Fred Taylor. Serving as pallbearers are: Tyler Cheek, Chad Rawls, Ryan Rawls, Scott Boyte, Jessie Woods and David Tollier. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Mathis, Joe McLarrin and Leon Hodges.
