TOMMYE JEAN MCKNIGHT HUMMEL


Funeral services for Mrs. Tommye Jean McKnight Hummel, age 86, will be held at 2
PM Friday, December 14, 2018 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Brother
Tim Post and Brother Gary Guice officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial
Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Hummel, a resident of Bastrop and retired, passed away Tuesday, December
11, 2018. Mrs. Hummel was a member of Bonita Road Baptist Church. She was a
great mother and loved her family. She loved to Cook, Sew, Garden, and give
orders. Mrs. Hummel is preceded in death by her husband, James Clifton McKnight;
parents, Dewey and Mary Sanford; sisters, Helen Smith, Doris McIver, Wilma
Foster; and brothers, LaVon Sanford, Glen Sanford, and Thurman Sanford.
Mrs. Hummel is survived by her daughters, Pat Crumley and husband Danny, Belinda
Boykin and husband Randy, Susie Kennedy and husband Vance; a brother, Herman
Sanford and wife Carolyn; grandchildren, Brian Boykin and wife April, Tara
Hughes and husband Chris, Kelli Crumley, Todd Boykin and wife Hannah, Justin
Martin and wife Cheryl, Lindsay Tomlinson and husband Trent, Michael Martin and
wife Lauren, Jordan Kennedy; thirteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Brian Boykin, Todd Boykin, Justin
Martin, Michael Martin, Lane Boykin, Dillon Boykin, Chris Hughes, and Jordan
Kennedy. Honorary pallbearers will be Hunter Martin, Brady Martin, Veo
Tomlinson, Macie Martin, Madilyn Martin, Pasiley Boykin, Danica Binns, Kennedy
Martin, Tessa Boykin and Everleigh Grace Martin.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2 PM Friday at Golden Funeral
Home.
