IRVINE Alease B. Irvine, 74, of Beekman, died Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. Mrs. Irvine, a native of Eudora, Ark., was a resident of Beekman for the past eight years and a former resident of Memphis, Tenn. for many years. She retired as a Medical Information Specialist from the Methodist Hospital Systems in Memphis. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bastrop where she was active in the youth program, taught Sunday school and served as a hostess. She enjoyed flower gardening and reading in her spare time. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilford and Lettie Callaway Burgess; four brothers, Lelvin, Timothy, Edgel and Leslie Burgess. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jack Irvine of Beekman; a son, Chris Irvine and wife, Amy, of Bastrop; three sisters, Olive Bell Thomas of Pensacola, Fla.; Lou Ann Trim of Pearl, Miss. and Maudean White of Tyler, Texas; a grandson, Jackson Irvine and a host of nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Bastrop with the Rev. Jim Ingram officiating. A private burial was held in the Hamburg Cemetery in Hamburg, Ark. Memorials may be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home, PO Box 4196, Monroe, La. 71211 or to the First Baptist Church, 620 E. Madison, Bastrop, La. 71220. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home of Hamburg.
