David Sistrunk officiating. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Friday. Interment will follow in Beulah Cemetery near Fiske Union under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Dane was born February 23, 1959 in Bastrop, LA and passed away to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at his residence in Bastrop after a lengthy illness. Dane was a kind and gentle soul - always giving to others and never expecting anything in return. He loved his family and God above all things. He was a brilliant man who loved the simple things of life. He was a very special son, brother, uncle, and friend and will be greatly missed. Dane was a 1977 graduate of Prairie View Academy in Bastrop and attended ULM. He spent most of his life working in the electronics field and was the Vice President of Executone in New Orleans, LA until he became ill. Dane is survived by his devoted mother and best friend, Claudette Norris Jester Smith and stepfather, Robert S. Smith of Bastrop; sister, Donna Jester Bordelon and sons, Evan Bordelon and Bonner Bordelon of Bastrop; brother, David L. Jester of Bastrop and son, Adam L. Jester and wife Jessica Carr Jester of Bethany, MO; brother, James Fassler of IL and his children Lauren Fassler Kleis and husband Jeremy Kleis; great niece, Ava Jane of IL; and Katie Fassler Collman and husband Josh Collman, great niece, Makayla Collman and great nephew, Chase Collman of IL. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dane is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy C. Jester, grandmother, Thelma Bonner Norris and grandfather, James Arthur Norris; sister, Jane Susan Baker; grandfather, Alvin Jester and grandmother, Rilla Marie Jester. Serving as pallbearers are: Bill Tharpe, Dr. Roger Billings, Christopher Coats, Adam Jester, Evan Bordelon and Kenny Leggett.
