Golden Funeral Home - July 2016
MELISSA MARLER

Funeral services for Mrs. Melissa "Diane" Marler are scheduled for 11 AM, 
Thursday, July 21, 2016, at the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Rev. 
David Sistrunk officiating. Interment will follow at Causey Cemetery.

Mrs. Marler, a homemaker and resident of Bastrop, passed away Tuesday, July 
19, 2016, at the age of sixty. She was a member of the North Bastrop Church 
of God. She was a graduate of Sam Houston College, East Central Community 
College, and Bastrop Technical College, where she earned degrees in both 
nursing and medical technology. She also served for many years in the ROTC.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Syble L. Frith Hightower and her 
twin brother, John David Sudduth.

Mrs. Marler is survived by her husband Steve Marler, of Bastrop; father, 
Euell Sudduth, Jr., of Bastrop; siblings, Wanda Morgan Carpenter, and 
husband Richard, of Mer Rouge, Glenda Porter, and husband Harold, of 
Bastrop, Charles M. Sudduth, and wife Linda, of Bastrop, Alice Arnaud, and 
husband Jimmy, of Arnaudville, LA, Eric Heath, and wife Tasha, of Bastrop; 
and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving the family as pallbearers are David Johnson, Rusty Morgan, Chuck 
Morgan, Corbin Sistrunk, Tyler Courson, and Chantz Michael Morgan.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 20, 2016, from 5 - 8 PM at Golden Funeral 
Home.
