Friends and family are invited to atten and celebrate and visit with the family. Max was born in Whitehall, New York on October 29, 1917. He died at North Monroe Medical Center on August 8, 2004. As to his wishes, his body was given to scientific research at the University of Texas at Houston. He loved people and had compassion for their illnesses and hoped to help through research. Transplanted by military service as a pilot in World War II, Max became a southenor and an avid hunter and fisherman. He and his wife have made their home in this area for the past 61 years. He leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Dorothy; one daughter, Georgia Amerson and husband, James of Bastrop; one son, Ned Massee and wife, Nell of Fairfield, Conn.; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
