Jim Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Christ Church Cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, prior to service time, from 12:30 PM until 2 PM at Goldens. Mrs. McCormack, a retired employee of LP & L, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017. She was a member of First Baptist Church, former member of Christ Episcopal Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved to crochet, cook, sew, play games especially bridge, and reading. She adored her family and enjoyed spending time with them all. She never had a negative word to say about anyone. She always said “if you can’t say something nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.” She was very attentive to her mother in her later years and always loved to go to Muchie’s house “the house” on Todd street. Mrs. McCormack was a cancer survivor. She is survived by her children, Linda McCormack Johnston, Anne McCormack Brown, John Peyton McCormack and wife Gail, Todd Caston McCormack and wife Robin; grandchildren, Teresa McCormack, Tjark McCormack, Guy McCormack, Matthew McCormack, Duran Allen Johnston, Jr.,Kelly Greenwood, Kimberly Cox, Don Honaker, Sherry Hattaway, Tammy McCormack, Amanda Greenwood, Todd McCormack, Jr., Michele Saleh and Andrew McCormack; twenty-six great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren. Mrs. McCormack is preceded in death by her husband, James Aaron McCormack, Sr.; son, James Aaron McCormack, Jr., parents, Boysie Spear and Helen “Nell” Todd Spear; three brothers and one sister. Her grandsons will serve as the pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
