Golden Funeral Home - June 2018
EARL R. MOORER


Funeral services for Mr. Earl R. Moorer, age 78, are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday,
June 24, 2018 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Warren Eckhardt,
Bro. Tim Post and Bro. Dennis Hackler officiating. Interment will follow in
Christ Church Cemetery.
Mr. Moorer, a retired mill comptroller with Georgia Pacific, passed away
Wednesday, June 20, 2018 in Jackson, MS. He was a member of North Monroe Baptist
Church and the Bastrop Lions Club. Mr. Moorer assisted as a volunteer with the
Extra Mile Mental Health Organization in Monroe for many years.He loved taking
care of his wife Sandra, spending time with his grandchildren and traveling. 
Mr. Moorer was very humble and enjoyed helping anyone in need without ANY
RECOGNITION.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Moorer; step-children, Drs. Jennifer Eubanks
and husband Robert Eubanks of Meridian, MS, Lynda Gates and husband Joshua Gates
of Madison, MS; step-grandchildren, Alexis Cain of Oxford, MS, Gray Gates of
Madison, MS, Claire Eubanks and Kennedy Eubanks both of Meridian, MS; nephews,
Richard Earl Kennedy of Utah, George Edward Kennedy of Washington and Michael
Kelly of Tennessee and niece, Leigh Adam of Bastrop.
Mr. Moorer is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Annie Moorer; wife, Kay
Moorer and sister, Jerrall Kennedy.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Glen Melton, Mike Tubbs, Mike Wooden,
Jim Wilson, Leo Vyvial, Bobby Nugent, Dan Wood, and Todd Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers are Andrew Tarver, John Hundley, Whit Broussard, Dr. Carter
Cox, Rick Hixon, Venoy Kinnaird, Jack McCormack, and Bruce Crymes.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 5 PM - 7 PM at
Golden Funeral Home.
