Morgan, 84 of Bastrop. The Rev.David Oliver officiated. Burial was in Midway Cemetery at Epps. Mr. Morgan died at 1:15 p.m Sunday in Richland Parish Hospital at Rayville after a lengthy illness. A retired farmer, Mr. Morgan was a member of the Baptist Church and had resided in Bastrop for 50 years. Survivors include two sons, Johnny Morgan of Houston. Tex and James Morgan Jr. of Shreveport; five daughters, Mrs. Albert Chunn of Oak Ridge, Mrs. Jewel Cook of Rayville, Mrs. Lillie Fae Forrest, Mrs. Mabel Carmack and Mrs. Erma Lane Oglesby, all of Bastrop; one brother, Lonnie Morgan of Baton Rouge; 2 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Sonny Forrest, James Albert Chunn, Victor Ray Chunn, Jimmy Ray Oglesby, Tommy Ray Butler and Billy Jo Chunn Additional Comments: Tombstone has date of death as 2-7-1978 but the paper is dated 1975.
