Greg Hawkins, Bro. Jerry Stuckey, and Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paschals Cemetery in West Monroe, LA. The family will receive friends Thursday, May 9, 2019, at Cherry Ridge Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Mr. Morrison, a resident of Bastrop, LA, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at the age of 40. He was a member of Bonne Idee Assembly of Mer Rouge, LA, a retiree of the Bastrop Fire Department after serving twenty years and a Morehouse Parish Sheriff Office Reserve Deputy. Mr. Morrison loved his family dearly, especially his nieces and nephews. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing, and he devoted untold amounts of time to coaching the game of baseball. He taught not only the game of baseball, but he also taught them about life. Mr. Morrison was known for being such a caring person who was always worried about someone else. He founded the “Slim Strong” Tournament to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, as well as the Morehouse Cancer Society and the Northeast Cancer Society. Mr. Morrison is survived by his parents, Wendel and Becky Morrison; grandparents, Pete and June Morrison; fiancee’, Amanda Wilkinson; children, Aiden Harris and Amelia Harris; special uncle and aunt, Greg and Sandra Hawkins; brothers, Brandon Morrison and wife Natalie, and Patrick Morrison and wife Jessica; nieces, Kennedy Morrison, Ellis Morrison; and nephew, Thaxton Morrison. He is preceded in death by his wife, Stacey Gentry Morrison; grandparents, Earl and Mildred Freeland; uncle, Tommy Freeland; and great grandmother, Irene Counselman. Serving as pallbearers will be Corey Robinson, John Carr, Clay Murphy, Cory Hawkins, Chris Hawkins, Nathan Medlin, Bobby Dull, Reagan “Dawg” Morrison, Timmy Williams, and Thomas Wilmore. Honorary pallbearers will be the Louisiana Havok 11U and his baseball families.
